BC Place Stadium
Billed as “Western Canada’s premiere venue for live entertainment”, BC Place Stadium draws visitors and locals alike for major concerts.
Think Madonna, the Rolling Stones and U2, or cheering on the BC Lions (CFL) and the Vancouver Whitecaps (MLS). And then there were the 2010 Winter Olympic opening and closing ceremonies.
Following the stadium’s celebration in the international spotlight, it closed for renovations that included a new lighting design by David Ghatan of C.M. Kling. The design provided exterior lighting for the façade, the roof and the support structures of 36 masts and cables.
Eos Lightmedia provided a lighting control and programming system to realize the full potential of the venue’s new solid-state, high-output LED lighting technology while respecting residential neighbours.
Under the lighting designer’s direction, Eos programmed light shows including signature looks for the building and shows for both the Lions and Whitecaps. To this day, Eos continues to program lighting for the facility and create unique shows for special events and celebrations.
